Two residents of Trent Hills are left picking up the pieces after a freak incident cost them their barn.
Ian and Cheryll Alton’s historic 240-year-old barn was lost in a fire sparked by a lightning strike during a recent storm.
The barn was full of tractors, equipment and winter feed supply which were all lost, though they were able to get their horses and alpacas out of the barn and to safety.
Now members of the community have banded together to try and raise money for the Altons in light of the tragedy.
You can visit a GoFundMe page that was set up to raise money for the Altons.
The money will go towards feed, shelter, gates and pens, veterinary care, and feeders and water troughs and donations have already surpassed $4,000.
