The number of new COVID-19 cases jumped a bit Sunday in Hastings and Prince Edward counties.
HPE Public Health reported another 15 confirmed cases Sunday, bringing the Saturday/Sunday new case total to 25.
Eleven of the new cases were located in Belleville, three in Quinte West, and one in Prince Edward County. Thirteen people had recovered from the illness Saturday and the number of active cases in the two counties is 156.
Another 21 infections involving a novel coronavirus variant of concern (VOC) were detected bringing that total to 141 since the pandemic began.
In total there have been 711 cases of COVID-19 in Hastings-Prince Edward since a pandemic was declared.
One less person is being treated in hospital for a total of seven while there are two people in intensive care, down one from Saturday.
One person remains on a ventilator.
The number of vaccine doses administered is 41,469 with 3,214 people being fully vaccinated.
