The Belleville General Hospital Foundation received a generous donation of $75,000 Thursday.
The late Lisa Martha Simpkins, who passed away due to cancer in June of 2020, left the donation to the Oncology Department at Belleville General Hospital in her will.
Mrs. Simpkins battled cancer three times in her life including breast and lung cancer and was appreciative of oncologists at Belleville General where she received care last year.
In a release, BGHF executive director Steve Cook said that the gift would help extend, save and improve the lives of cancer patients from across the region who get care at BGH.
