Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is reporting another 16 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, with three recoveries, for an active total of 87.
Six of the new cases were found in Belleville, five in Quinte West, three in Centre Hastings and one each in Prince Edward County and Deseronto.
Eleven of the new cases have been linked to close contact, with two transmitted through local spread.
One case is related to one of a pair of ongoing outbreaks in Belleville and Trenton and two other transmission causes are pending.
The HPE Public Health Dashboard says one person is in the ICU and the seven day case rate per 100,000 people is up to 40.9.
That number would put our region into the red zone of Ontario’s COVID-19 Response Framework, if further provincial restrictions weren’t already being put in place.
In Northumberland County, the HKPR Health Unit is reporting six new cases today, with no recoveries, for an active total of 24.
