Belleville residents may see some lights and hear some sirens screaming through their neighbourhood this evening (Monday), but there is no cause for alarm.
City staff say local first responders are planning a siren salute at 6:30 p.m. and will be driving through the streets with their emergency lights and sirens activated.
The parade is in support of frontline COVID-19 workers at Belleville General Hospital, but officials say it is not a public gathering and are asking you to look out from your window, or from the safety of your front step.
The siren salute will take place in Belleville at 6:30.
City officials are reminding residents they are NOT to come watch and to follow the physical distancing guidelines. Watching from your front step or windows is preferred.
