The Halloween forecast isn’t offering many treats for kids in southern Ontario.
Environment Canada says heavy rains are expected throughout the day and may continue into the evening.
A special weather statement for the area also says there may be high winds.
Several communities in Quebec dealing with the same weather system, including the city of Montreal, have postponed official Halloween activities.
Here is the full special weather statement from Environment Canada:
Significant rainfall expected today through Friday morning.
Rain, at times heavy, is expected this afternoon and into this evening. Rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 mm are possible, with the heaviest rain occurring late this afternoon and this evening. Rain will taper to scattered showers overnight.
If visibility is reduced during driving, turn on headlights and maintain a safe following distance. Remember, pedestrians are more difficult to see when it is dark and raining.

A wind warning is also in effect:
Strong southwesterly wind gusts are expected overnight and early Friday.
Southwesterly wind gusts near 90 km/h are expected to develop overnight with stronger wind gusts of 110 km/h possible along the Lake Ontario shoreline. Westerly wind gusts of 70 or 80 km/h are then expected Friday morning.
Winds will continue to ease through the day Friday.
Damaging winds may bring down tree limbs. Power outages are possible.
Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
