There was a street race in east end Belleville last Friday morning, but no one was charged because a city police officer was taking part.
An officer on patrol stopped to thank a Queen Victoria student for wearing a helmet as he was bicycling to school.
The boy challenged the policeman to a race.
The officer didn’t have a bicycle, so used his cruiser instead.
In a photo finish, the boy won the race, and got to school on time.
