One of the newest manufacturing companies in Belleville has announced its grand opening.
Ya YA Foods Corp., a leading North American co-manufacturer in the food and beverage industry, will hold the grand opening of Truss Beverage Co. on May 26.
The business is already in operation in 186,000 square feet of space in the former Sears warehouse previously occupied by Truss
Beverages and prior to that HEXO Corporation.
The new Truss Beverage Co. facility was developed to meet the growing demand for aseptic PET
beverage production.
Below is a description of the aseptic PET process from Canadian Packaging.
Developed as an alternative to the traditional hot-filling beverage production process, aseptic cold-fill technology offers a plethora of consumer and environmental benefits that are simply too good to ignore or downplay, including extended product shelf-life, no need for refrigeration, lower energy consumption, and gentler processing to protect the quality of the ingredients’ flavors, textures, appearance and health benefits without the use of preservatives.
As such, aseptic packaging is rapidly becoming a preferred choice in the production of all types of liquid dairy products, juices and nectars, isotonics, iced tea and coffee, and many other shelf-stable beverages requiring optimal protection from microbiological contamination, light, oxygen and temperature extremes.
Yayah Abbas, Ya YA Foods Corp CEO says 94 local jobs have been created with 84 being filled. It’s projected that by
2030 the number of jobs created by the company will be around 300.
