The buildup of dryer lint in the laundry room walls of a Belleville highrise is respondible for filling the building with smoke. Senior Fire Prevention Officer Dave McMullen says a plumbers torch ignited the lint and sent smoke billowing throughout the Prince William building, at Herhimer and Dundas, late yesterday afetrnoon. The residents were not evacuated and no one was injured. McMullen reminds you to clean your vent piping periodically as lint can be a fire hazard. Damage is estimated at 5-thousand dollars.
