Hastings County has received $12,234,552 in funding from the Ministry of Health, as the annual Land Ambulance Service Grant.
Hastings County Council reviewed a report on the grant during its Thursday meeting. Funds are provided yearly as a grant, based on financial information provided each March to the ministry.
The 2026 grant was approved in September, and is $12,501 larger than the originally-budgeted for amount. The additional funds are being used to offset unforeseen operating expenses incurred during the year.
Overall, the 2026 funding announcement represents an increase of approximately 8% compared to the previous year’s allocation.
