On October 3, Belleville police investigated a report of intimate partner violence. Officers spoke with the victim, who reported ongoing harassment by a male. During the investigation, officers also learned of a previous incident in which the male physically assaulted, threatened, and forcibly restrained the victim in a vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained for the following offences:
· Criminal harassment – repeatedly communicate
· Assault – spousal
· Forcible confinement
· Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
On October 8, a 28-year-old Thomasburg man was arrested on the strength of the outstanding warrant. He was released on an undertaking with a court date in November.
