U11 BIHC QRD
The Belleville Integrative Health Center U11 AAA Quinte Red Devils officially kicked off the 2026-2027 hockey season this weekend at the Drew Doughty Tournament in London, Ontario.
Friday saw the BIHC QRD face a familiar opponent as they met the Kitchener Rangers for the third consecutive time this season. Kitchener once again proved to be a tough matchup, as QRD fell 5-2 in the opening game.
The squad bounced back in a big way in game 2, finding their rhythm and lighting the lamp early and often enroute to a 12-1 victory over the Jr. Americans.
Saturday morning brought a matchup with the hometown London Jr. Knights. QRD spent the majority of the game shorthanded and, despite some outstanding goaltending and plenty of battle, were unable to overcome the hometown energy, falling 5-0.
The final game of the tournament saw QRD face the Brantford 99ers and the team came out firing! A strong offensive performance earned Quinte a convincing 10–3 victory to close out the weekend on a high note.
There were moments of hard work, determination, skill and teamwork, along with plenty of memories made during this cornerstone tournament.
A great official start to the season. A weekend to shake off the rust, get the cylinders firing and starting to build the foundation for what promises to be an exciting year ahead.
