Members from the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a vehicle fire in Selwyn Township.
On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, shortly after 4:45 a.m., officers from the Peterborough County OPP and local fire services were dispatched to a vehicle fire on a property on Fifes Bay Road, near Lily Lake Road, in Selwyn Township.
No injures have been reported.
The fire is being investigated as an incident of arson by the Peterborough County OPP Crime Unit, with assistance from the OPP Forensic Identification Services.
No charges have been laid at this time.
Police believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no believed threat to public safety.
As part of the ongoing investigation, investigators are asking residents in the area to review any available home surveillance, dash camera, or security footage for suspicious persons or vehicles that may have been observed in the area around the time of the incident.
