Hastings County is deeply saddened by the tragic incident that occurred in Belleville on Sunday evening and the impact it has had on members of our community. Our thoughts are with the injured Belleville Police Service officer, the congregants of the Sons of Jacob Synagogue, their families, and everyone affected by this disturbing event.
At times like these, we are reminded of the importance of standing together in support of one another. We extend our solidarity to Belleville’s Jewish community and to all those feeling the effects of this tragedy.
We are grateful for the swift response of first responders, including Belleville Police Service, our own Hastings-Quinte Paramedic Services, and all emergency personnel who worked to protect and care for those involved.
