Back to School Traffic Detail
Officers were out at the beginning of the school day and again after school in Peterborough, Lakefield, and Cavan-Monaghan Township.
As a result:
- 30 Provincial Offence Notices issued including tickets for cell phone use, disobey sign, approximately 27 speeding charges in community safety zones
- 7 Part III summons issued – 2 for Operate Motor Vehicle w/ no insurance and other equipment related charges
- 14 Warnings issued to motorists for a variety of offences
Traffic Sergeant McGill met with Kawartha Heights Public School regarding construction on Kawartha Heights Boulevard and spent time monitoring the school zone and speaking with the crossing guard and staff.
Officers will continue to be present in school zones throughout the week.
Motorists, please slow down and be aware of students and crossing guards.
Help Us Identify – Update
The Peterborough Police Service continues to ask for your help to identify individuals in connection with criminal activity in the City of Peterborough, Village of Lakefield and Township of Cavan-Monaghan.
Today, an additional six bulletins are being posted for identification of individuals connected to incidents of:
- Commercial Theft (July 18; Four-person crew; wire)
- Commercial Theft (July 15; Three-person theft crew)
- Commercial Break & Enter (July 23)
- Break & Enter (July 28)
- Commercial Theft (August 1; Two-person theft crew)
- Residential Break & Enter (August 4)
These incident happened between July 15, 2026, and August 4, 2026.
