An individual is facing a criminal charge after being observed spray painting graffiti on a commercial building in Picton.
On August 26, 2026, at approximately 12:15 a.m., an officer with the Prince Edward County OPP was on patrol in Picton when they observed an individual spray painting graffiti on the rear wall of a business.
The officer immediately intervened and determined that the individual was committing mischief. The suspect was arrested without incident and transported to the Prince Edward County OPP detachment.
As a result of the investigation, Jean Mykhael Godin-Mathon, age 35 of Montreal, has been charged with mischief under $5,000.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on November 4, 2026.
Prince Edward County OPP remind residents and business owners to report suspicious activity and property damage to police. Graffiti and other forms of vandalism can result in significant repair costs and negatively impact local businesses and communities.
