An assault charge has been laid against a Belleville man.
Belleville police responded to a residence in the city’s east end regarding a disturbance.
When police arrived, it was reported that a verbal altercation escalated when a male choked another male and struck his head against a bathtub.
As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with assault.
He was released on an undertaking with a court date in September.
