As part of the next phase of work on the Trenton trunk sewer project, significant construction in the City Hall parking lot is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Aug. 26 and continue into the fall.
Starting Aug. 26, members of the public visiting Quinte West City Hall and the Quinte West Public Library Trenton branch, located at 7 Creswell Dr. in Trenton, should plan ahead and take note of the following parking and access changes:
Parking:
- Public parking: a reduced number of public parking spaces will remain open at City Hall
- Accessible parking: accessible parking spaces will remain available at City Hall for accessible parking-permit holders
- Overflow parking: additional parking spaces are available at the Creswell parking lot
- Electric vehicle (EV) charging: EV charging stations located in the City Hall parking lot will be temporarily unavailable while construction is underway
Facility access:
- Access to City Hall via Quinte Street is unavailable
- Visitors can access City Hall on Creswell Drive through the Trent Port Marina entrance
To help pedestrians safely cross the Creswell parking lot to municipal facilities, a new three-way stop and crosswalk will be installed at the primary entrance of the Creswell parking lot connecting to the east sidewalk on Creswell Drive starting Monday, Aug. 24. Visitors using the overflow parking available in the Creswell parking lot are asked to use this designated crosswalk and follow the sidewalk on the east side of Creswell Drive to access City Hall.
Members of the public attending meetings, events or accessing city services at City Hall or the Trenton library branch are encouraged to allow extra time for travel.
