The final batch of candidates to run in the 2026 municipal election in Quinte West have been registered.
Among them includes a new mayoral candidate.
David Thomson filed his nomination papers to run for the mayor seat.
Meantime, there are two new candidates for the Trenton Ward council seat, Matthew Brumsey and Tyler Rickey.
There are now a total of 10 people running for a seat in Trenton Ward.
Brian J. Arthur filed his nomination papers to run in Sidney Ward.
A total of 9 people are running that ward.
Lastly, Tim Durkin filed his nomination papers to run in Murray Ward.
Durkin is the News Director for Quinte Broadcasting, who owns Quinte News.
Six people are running in that ward.
Election day is October 26 across Ontario.
