Northumberland OPP have charged a youth following a dispute involving weapons.
On Wednesday, just before 6:30 p.m., officers responded to a home on Deele Road in Cramahe after receiving reports of a youth brandishing a weapon during a verbal dispute.
Officers attended the scene, and took one person into custody. Further investigation revealed that the youth had brandished a firearm and taken a vehicle without permission during a previous incident. No injuries were reported.
As a result of the investigation a 16-year-old from Cramahe, whose name cannot be published under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged with pointing a firearm, unauthorized use of a firearm, mischief under $5000, uttering threats, and taking a motor vehicle without consent.
The accused was held to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
