The City of Belleville says replacement of the Great St. James/Mt. Pleasant Street stairs will begin this Monday.
In a post to X, the city says that the existing wooden staircase will be removed and replaced with a new galvanized steel staircase.
They say that the new stairs will provide greater durability and longevity while helping maintain an important pedestrian connection in our community.
This work is expected to take approximately six weeks to complete.
