An early evening blaze sent two people to the hospital Tuesday night, after emergency crews pulled them from a burning West Hill home.
Belleville firefighters rushed to the smoke-filled Jane Street apartment building just before 7:00 p.m., to perform the dramatic rescue.
Police taped off the surrounding neighborhood near Coleman Street, while crews extinguished the flames and searched for lingering hot spots.
The area remained secured overnight as fire investigators worked to figure out what sparked the blaze.
Hastings-Quinte EMS rushed the patients to hospital for treatment.
