Construction is set to begin on the Avonlough Sewage Pumping Station Project.
The City of Belleville says that construction is scheduled to begin on September 1, with work for Contract 1 of the first phase expected to be completed by the end of 2028.
Work will include construction of the new sewage pumping station and installation of twin sanitary forcemains connecting the station to the western limits of Contract 2.
The city says as part of the project, work along Bridge Street West between Marshall Road and Palmer Road will include the installation of a sanitary sewer forcemain, asphalt resurfacing, curb replacement and boulevard restoration.
Work at the sewage pumping station site will include construction of the new pumping station, including foundation and site works, as well as installation of a sanitary sewer forcemain between the station and the Bridge Street West and Marshall Road area.
There are some traffic impacts to the project.
The city says that work on Bridge Street West will be limited to the section between Marshall Road and Palmer Road.
Motorists can expect single-lane closures within the construction area while work is underway and are encouraged to use caution, follow posted signage and allow additional time for travel.
As construction schedules are finalized, the city says that it will provide additional updates with more specific information on the timing and location of work and associated traffic impacts.
More information and project updates can be found at the City of Belleville’s website.
