A 22-year-old Belleville man was arrested in two separate east-end Belleville incidents.
Belleville Police Service first responded to a residence in the city’s east end regarding a weapons incident on Friday at around 8:24 p.m.
When officers arrived, it was reported that a male had pointed a knife at an individual.
Police say that officers located the suspect, who fled on foot, leading to a brief foot pursuit.
He was arrested a short distance away without further incident.
As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and released on an undertaking.
A few days later, on Sunday at around 9:50 p.m., Belleville police responded to the same residence regarding a disturbance involving the same male.
Officers spoke with the involved parties, and it was reported that the male had threatened an individual and punched him.
As a result of the investigation, the 22-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with assault and uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
He was held for a bail hearing.
