The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Trenton says plane debris has been located on Wolf Lake in Queen Elizabeth II Provincial Park.
In a post to X, the JRCC says the case is now with Ontario Provincial Police as a missing person’s case.
A massive rescue operation has been in effect since Friday for a missing 73-year-old aviator.
The seasoned pilot, identified by Durham Police as David, failed to return after taking off from the Oshawa Airport on Friday.
The JRCC says they hope the efforts of all search and rescue units will aid the continued search.
