Municipal clerks in the Quinte region are likely to have a very busy week.
It is the last five days to submit paperwork to run in the upcoming municipal elections.
Those interested in running have until Friday afternoon to get their paperwork in, fill out the requirements and signatures, and have that submission approved by the clerk of the respective municipality.
They (clerks) approve those who run for mayor, council, and school board trustee.
The deadline for the October 26 election is 2 p.m Friday (August 21, 2026).
Quinte News has confirmed that 800 CJBQ will do full election-night coverage for the region, once the polls close at 8:00 p.m.
