A Belleville woman was arrested on a charge of assault a peace officer.
Belleville police responded to a call for service on Sunday at around 6:02 p.m. in the city’s east end.
It was reported that a female had left her residence and refused to return despite being bound by conditions, including a requirement to follow the residence rules.
When officers arrived, they spoke with the female and subsequently transported her to a local hospital for minor injuries.
While at the hospital, the female became uncooperative and spat on a police officer.
As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old Belleville woman was arrested and charged with:
- Assault a peace officer
- Fail to comply with probation order x3
She was released on an undertaking with a court date in November.
