The Major Crime Unit (MCU) of Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have made three additional arrests related to the May 7, 2025, armed robbery in Keene.
On Wednesday May 7, 2025, just prior to 5:00pm, officers from the Peterborough County OPP were dispatched to a call for an armed robbery at a financial institution in Keene. At the time it was reported that three individuals entered the bank brandishing weapons. The individuals left with a quantity of Canadian currency. Descriptions of the individuals and the vehicle involved were provided to officers and a short time later the vehicle was located. Two accused, a 16-year-old and 17-year-old, both from Brampton were arrested and held for Bail.
The Peterborough County MCU continued the investigation into the robbery and uncovered information regarding the planning and execution of the robbery.
On Thursday July 9, 2026, members of the Peterborough County OPP MCU attended an address in Mississauga and arrested a now 19-year-old, charging them with Conspiracy to commit an Indictable offence. The accused was transported to Peterborough where they were held for Bail.
On Thursday July 22, 2026, two other accused who were in custody at the Central North Correctional Centre for unrelated matters, were brought to the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough where they were arrested and charged in relation to the Robbery.
A 19-year-old and a 20-year-old both from Mississauga were arrested and charged with Conspiracy to commit an Indictable offence. Both appeared before a Justice of the Peace and were remanded in custody with future court dates.
Due to the age of the accused at the time of the offence, their names will not be released as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
