Peterborough County OPP made an arrest after an individual was identified for shoplifting in Havelock.
On Thursday at approximately 1:30 p.m., Peterborough County OPP officers received a call regarding an individual who was observed taking items from a local business and leaving without making any attempt to pay for them. The store employee attempted to speak with the accused about what had been seen, but the accusations were denied.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the complainant who provided a description of the accused. Officers were able to identify the accused and attended an address in Havelock where the accused was located and arrested.
Emma Rever (age 30) of Havelock was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on September 15 in Peterborough.
