Belleville police responded to 111 calls for service over 24 hours from 5 a.m. on August 6, 2026, to 5 a.m. on August 7, 2026.
Intimidation of Health Care Professional:
On August 6, 2026 at 6:10 a.m., Belleville police responded to a call for service at a local hospital.
It was reported that a male who had been transported to the hospital made threatening comments toward staff members.
Further investigation revealed that the male had been transported to the hospital by EMS multiple times within 24 hours, despite no new injuries being identified. Police also learned that he had previously been warned about the misuse of 911 services.
As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with intimidation of Health Care Professional
He was released on an undertaking with a court date in October.
Criminal Harassment
On August 6, 2026, Belleville police responded to a call for service in the city’s east end. It was reported that a male had attended a female’s work location and residence over the course of the evening. The male was known to the female.
As a result of police investigation, a 30-year-old Belleville man was located, arrested and charged with criminal harassment.
He was released on an undertaking with a court date in September.
Breach of Recognizance:
On August 6, 2026 at 7:42 p.m., Belleville police responded to an address in the city’s west end regarding a domestic dispute.
Upon arrival, officers observed a verbal disturbance taking place inside the residence. After speaking with both parties, officers learned that the male was bound by conditions requiring him to keep the peace and be of good behaviour toward the female.
As a result, a 37-year-old Stirling man was arrested and charged with breach of recognizance.
He was released on an undertaking with a court date in September.
