Monday, August 3 is the Civic Holiday and that means that many local businesses and services will be closed for the day.
City of Belleville:

City Hall – Closed Aug. 3.

Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre – customer service desk will be open from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Aug. 1 -2 and closed Aug. 3. No recreation programs are scheduled on Aug. 1, 2 or 3. Regular ice and FDC Track will remain open.

Kinsmen Community Outdoor Pool – Closed Aug. 3. For more information, visit Belleville.ca/Recreation.

Transit – Regular transit and mobility transit will NOT run on Aug. 3.

Leaf & Yard Waste Depot – Closed Aug. 3.

Thurlow Landfill – No change to regular public hours.

Glanmore National Historic Site – Closed Aug. 3.

Quinte West City Hall, the Frankford Municipal Office and the Frankford Yard Waste Depot will be closed on Monday, Aug. 3, 2026, for the Civic Holiday.
There is no change to the curbside waste collection schedule.
County of Prince Edward:
The County of Prince Edward municipal offices will be closed on Monday, August 3 for the Civic Holiday.
Offices will reopen on Tuesday, August 4 at 8:30 am.
Garbage and recycling collection
- Curbside garbage, green bin, and recycling pickup service will occur according to the regular schedule.
- Environmental 360 Solutions reminds residents to have their garbage, green bin, and properly sorted blue boxes out to the curb by 7 am to ensure pickup.

- Garbage bags must be tightly sealed and weigh no more than 40lbs when filled. All bags must have a visible tag and the full tag must be visible (rolled tags are not acceptable). To review the Waste Management By-law, please click here.
- The municipality’s landfill and transfer stations will be open regular hours on Saturday, August 1. Visit the County website for more information.
Recreation Facilities
The Prince Edward Community Centre (375 Picton Main Street) and the Wellington and District Community Centre (111 Belleville Street) will be closed on Monday, August 3.
Both community centres and the walking track at the WDCC will return to the regular schedule of Monday – Friday, 7 am – 4 pm on Tuesday, August 4.
The County Museums
The County Museums will be closed on Monday, August 3.
Marina
Marina services remain open during the holiday including fuel, pump outs, docking, and ice.
County Transit
County Transit will not operate on Monday, August 3.
Many, but not all retail outlets are open on Monday. Those that are open may be operating on reduced hours.
Quinte Mall will be open during the holiday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
All Beer Store locations in the Quinte region are closed Monday except the one located on Bell Blvd in Belleville which is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Most LCBO stores are also closed.
The exceptions are the LCBO at 190 Bell Blvd, Belleville and the Picton location which are open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and the Trenton LCBO which will be open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
