Belleville police delivered on a promise to go the extra mile this week.
On Sunday morning, officers were called about the theft of a vehicle on Bell Boulevard.
It turned out to be a delivery vehicle, and the suspect who stole the van took officers on a brief high-speed pursuit.
The vehicle ended up being abandoned and eventually a 51-year-old of no-fixed address was arrested and charged.
When officers discovered the vehicle, they noticed several undelivered parcels.
They stepped into the role of delivery driver and dropped off the remaining packages.
