Building activity in Brighton was up last month over the year before.
The municipality issued 20 permits with a construction value of $8.4 million in October, up from the 13 permits worth $5.8 million for the same month in 2025.
Last month’s permits included seven new urban dwellings.
There were six units as part of a six-plex townhouse along with one detached dwelling and additional dwelling unit.
Year-to-date construction continues to sit well behind 2025.
Through the end of October last year there were 138 permits with a value of $119.7 million.
There have been 132 permits granted during the first 10 months of this year, however, the construction value is only $59.4 million.
