A new hotel accounts for much of the building activity in Brighton in June.
The municipality issued 13 permits with a construction value of $23.8 million last month.
A six-storey hotel to be constructed on Elizabeth Street accounts for $14.1 million.
There were 17 permits granted for new residential construction.
In June 2025 there were only 10 permits with a construction value of $1.2 million issued.
Despite last month’s total, building is still lagging behind 2025 with 47 permits worth $40.5 million issued so far this year compared to 70 permits with a $103.2 million value halfway through 2025.
