Two people face charges after a stolen vehicle and suspected stolen tools were recovered from a search warrant executed in Brighton.
Members of the Peterborough/Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit executed a Criminal Code search warrant at a property on Lakeshore Road on Monday.
During the search, officers recovered a vehicle that had recently been stolen from a nearby township, along with a quantity of trade tools, power tools and equipment believed to be stolen.
Two people were taken into custody at the property.
Forty-five-year-old Jason Szakacsi of Brighton has been charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
Sixty-year-old Michael Winn of Brighton has been charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Fail to comply with probation order
Both accused were held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
Police believe the recovered tools and equipment may be stolen and are seeking to identify their rightful owners.
