A male is facing charges after being arrested for a recycled metal theft valued at over $45,000 in Ajax.
On June 25, 2026 at approximately 9:15 p.m., members of West Division responded to an alarm call at AIM Recycling located at 140 Dowty Road. A male suspect was observed breaking into the business’s scrap metal yard. Officers, with the assistance of the K9 Unit, Tactical Support Unit, and Drone Unit, searched the area and located the suspect, who was taken into custody without incident.
Further investigation revealed the suspect had committed multiple thefts from the business, stealing more than $45,000 in metal.
Haron Mohammed, age 35 from Pickering, is charged with: break and enter, and theft over $5000.
He was released on an undertaking.
