An 82-year-old from the Township of Hamilton has been charged after a dispute between tenants.
Ontario Provincial Police were called to a multi-occupancy residence on Moore Service Road in the Township of Hamilton at around 10:50 a.m. on Sunday.
The caller reported to police that a firearm had been brandished during the altercation.
Police attended the location and took one person into custody.
The scene was secured while members of the Northumberland OPP Crime Unit assisted with the investigation.
Police say that a number of firearms and ammunition were seized following the execution of a search warrant.
An 82-year-old man from the Township of Hamilton has been charged with:
- Pointing a firearm
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in September 2026.
The individual will not be named in order to protect the identity of the victim.
