Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward-Hastings is teeing up a big thank you to the community after its third successful Chip In For Change fundraiser,
proudly sponsored by McDougall Insurance & Financial.
Held over Father’s Day weekend, Chip In For Change invited golfers at local courses to donate in support of Habitat PEH’s efforts to build more affordable homeownership opportunities, for local families. From Friday to Sunday, Habitat volunteers were stationed at Black Bear Ridge, Bay of Quinte Golf, Timber Ridge Golf Course, NINE Golf, and Trillium Wood Golf Club, connecting with golfers as they checked in for their tee times and encouraging them to “chip in” for affordable homeownership.
This year’s fundraiser raised just over $8,000, thanks to the generosity of local golfers and community donors, the support of McDougall Insurance & Financial, and the dedication of Habitat volunteers. All funds raised will go directly toward Habitat PEH’s build fund, helping provide children and families with a safe and stable place to call home.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support shown throughout Chip In For Change,” said Hazzem Koudsi, CEO of Habitat for Humanity PEH. “From the golfers who donated, to McDougall Insurance & Financial, our participating golf courses, and our volunteers, this fundraiser shows what is possible when the community comes together to support hard working local families and give children a chance at better life outcomes.”
As part of the fundraiser, donors who gave $10 received a $10 coupon to use at the Belleville or Trenton ReStore. Donors who gave $20 or more received a sleeve of Habitat-branded Titleist Pro V1 golf balls, made possible through the support of McDougall Insurance & Financial, along with a ReStore coupon.
Habitat PEH extends a special thank you to Black Bear Ridge, Bay of Quinte Golf Course, Timber Ridge Golf Course, NINE Golf, and Trillium Wood Golf Course for welcoming Habitat volunteers throughout the weekend and helping the fundraiser run smoothly.
Habitat PEH also thanks Cool 100.1 and 95.5 Hits FM for helping spread the word and inviting Habitat on air to share more about the event.
For those who missed the fundraiser, donations can still be made online at habitatpeh.org/donate.
Habitat PEH looks forward to making next year’s Chip In For Change even better. Next Father’s Day weekend, keep an eye out for Habitat volunteers at local golf courses and take the opportunity to chip in for change.
