Long-time local resident, community leader, and CEO Hazzem Koudsi has officially entered the race for Belleville City Council, bringing decades of leadership experience, a strong understanding of local issues, and a commitment to building a stronger future for the community he calls home.
Raised in the Quinte region, Hazzem’s connection to Belleville runs deep. He attended Prince of Wales Public School and Quinte Secondary School before graduating with a university education (Economics), and returning to Belleville in 2013 to take on executive leadership roles with Canada Revenue Agency’s Belleville operations.
Beyond his professional career, Hazzem has demonstrated a strong commitment to community development. During his time as past vice chair of the board with the Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward, he played an important role in advancing the development and construction of a project that strengthened an essential community service and resulted in their new animal care facility on Wallbridge-Loyalist Road. Additionally, he is incoming president of the Rotary Club of Belleville, board member of the Belleville Club, member of 100 Men Who Care, and actively supports the Belleville Chamber of Commerce.
With experience spanning leadership, construction, and organizational development, Hazzem brings a practical understanding of the challenges facing Belleville, including housing affordability, infrastructure needs, and responsible financial management.
“As Belleville continues to grow, residents deserve thoughtful leadership focused on practical solutions,” said Koudsi. “My goal is to bring my experience, problem-solving skills, and commitment to service to council to help ensure Belleville remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family.”
Hazzem’s campaign will focus on three key priorities:
- Housing: Supporting solutions that encourage affordable and attainable housing options for residents.
- Infrastructure: Advocating for responsible investment in the roads, services, and facilities that support a growing community.
- Cost Containment: Promoting responsible decision-making and ensuring taxpayer dollars are managed effectively.
With a lifetime of connections to the region and a career built on leadership and results, Hazzem Koudsi is seeking the opportunity to serve Belleville residents and contribute to the community’s future.
