A section of Kimmetts Side Road was closed on Tuesday, and surrounding residents evacuated, after a hazardous materials spill.
The road has since re-opened and residents allowed to return.
The incident started just before noon as the Greater Napanee Fire Department responded to a fire alarm, which was later upgraded to a hazardous material leak. As a precaution, between 30 to 40 surrounding residents were evacuated and a perimeter established while firefighters worked at the scene. The affected area included a stretch of Kimmetts Side Road along with Vanluven Road and Frisk Road.
There was no risk to the public beyond the established perimeter.
The evacuation order was lifted just after 7:30 pm that evening, and residents were allowed to return to their homes safely.
