Covid 19 led to tough times for sick and injured people and hospital staff alike.
The pandemic created a huge backlog of patients waiting for X-rays, CT and MRI scans in local hospitals.
But on Tuesday Quinte Health CEO Stacey Daub told Quinte News that hard work and long hours by staff have paid off.
“So they have gotten rid of the backlog form a number of the modalities and in our quality committee we just
looked at where we benchmark (provincial targets) and we benchmark extremely well for MRI and CT.”
The goal, often being met, is for people to be called within 3 days to set up an imaging appointment.
Demand for diagnostic imaging is growing. At last report the department was performing an impressive 450 scans a day.
