Northumberland County is inviting residents to attend upcoming public information sessions to learn more about two major infrastructure projects planned for this summer.
The public information session is being held at the Warkworth Legion on Monday June 22 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The first project is the Trent River Bridge rehabilitation project. The Trent River Bridge is located on County Road 30, approximately 300 metres south of Peterborough County Road 42. After recent inspections, it was determined that rehabilitation work is needed to extend the life of the bridge. Construction is expected to begin on July 2 and continue through September. The work will involve replacing approach slabs, sleeper slabs and expansion joints, along with concrete repairs and waterproofing.
The second project is the Salt Creek Culvert Replacement, which will see the culvert on County Road 25 near Warkworth replaced. The culvert was previously found to be deteriorating, and will be completely removed and replaced.
Construction timing and detour information will be shared during the information session.
