Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement calling for heavy rain and thunderstorms this afternoon.
In its alert, the weather agency says it is calling for additional rainfall amounts between five and 20 millimetres.
They say that total rainfall amounts of 40 mm or greater are possible as a result of the showers and thunderstorms within the system it’s tracking.
Wind gusts could also reach up to 70km/h.
