The attendance numbers are in for last month’s inaugural Quinte Walleye Festival.
The Competitive Sport Fishing League took over from the Trenton Kiwanis Club in running the walleye/pike tournament this year.
Over eleven hundred tickets were sold with 70 per cent of them going to adults and the others to children.
Forty-five per cent of the tickets were bought by locals with the rest going to anglers from out of town.
People came from Ottawa, Kitchener, the GTA, Thunder Bay, Winnipeg and elsewhere to try their luck.
The league hopes to expand the two-day event next spring.
