The City of Quinte West released an update on the collective bargaining process between itself and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 799.3 on Monday.
The union represents 145 inside and outside workers.
In a release, the city says that its has been engaged in collective bargaining since the current contract expired on March 31, 2026, and continues to work towards a negotiated agreement.
They say that both parties have agreed to participate in conciliation with a provincially appointed conciliator later this week.
The city says in its release that conciliation is a standard step in the bargaining process and is intended to support continued conversations and progress in negotiations.
No specific details of the negotiations are being shared at this time in order to support a productive bargaining process.
City services continue to operate as usual and no changes are anticipated at this time.
