Lennox and Addington County OPP have charged one person in connection with a sexual assault investigation in Amherstview.
Officers responded to a report of a sexual assault that had occurred in a parking lot in the Amherstview area on the morning of June 7.
Police say that the victim and accused had prior contact before the incident.
The victim sustained serious injuries and attended hospital for treatment.
Twenty-four-year-old Eric Barlow of Loyalist Township was charged with the following:
- Aggravated sexual assault
- Sexual assault causing bodily harm – choke, suffocate or strangle
- Sexual assault causing bodily harm
The accused was released from custody following a bail hearing.
