This year’s Bay of Quinte Relay for Life was a massive success.
The event, held Saturday at Trenton High School raised $75,000 with donations still coming in.
Speaking with the Mix Morning Crew on Monday, Event Director Karen White says that surpassed their $57,000 fundraising goal.
“The Canadian Cancer Society is obviously well thought of, well supported and people know that they are doing what needs to be done to fight this terrible disease and to make sure we have more people living with cancer than dying from it.”
Money raised through Relay for Life directly funds Canadian Cancer Society initiatives including cancer research, maintaining patient lodges and covering travel costs for treatments.
Donations are still being accepted and can be made here.
White thanked the numerous sponsors for the event saying it wouldn’t be possible without them.
