About 120 people walked the Zwick’s Park loop on Saturday raising funds for research to cure Lou Gehrig’s Disease, formally known as ALS.
With donations still coming in, organizers with the Belleville/Quinte Walk to End ALS said $15,000 had been raised.
This walk was the 25th in the Quinte region and five teams who’d been in all 25 walks were given special recognition.
Since the local walk began, over $930,000 has been raised for ALS research.
ALS is a progressive, incurable neurodegenerative disorder that attacks motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord.
