Centennial Secondary School students and athletes have returned home from the Special Olympics Provincial School Championships with some hardware.
Ten student athletes and leaders participated in the event at Western University in London last week which featured more than 1,000 athletes from across the province.
The Centennial team competed in Unified Soccer against teams from across the province winning silver after playing eight games over the two days of competition.
Unified teams are when athletes with and without a disability play alongside each other on the same team.

Two students, Vera Dixon and Meg Lightfoot also represented Centennial at the Youth Leadership Summit where they connected with other leaders from across the province to learn and share.
Centennial has brought home medals three of the last four years that they’ve attended the School Championships.

The Centennial team was accompanied by coaches Vanessa Deming, Rebecca Delaney and Meghan Weinhold.
