The federal government has announced some new funding for seniors’ programs in Quinte West.
During a Friday morning event, Bay of Quinte MP Chris Malette announced $22,050 in funding for the social kitchen program at Quinte West Public Library.
The Social Kitchen will allow seniors to participate in cooking classes in order to promote social engagement among vulnerable seniors, and is intended to help keep seniors active, informed and socially connected in their community.
The funds come from the The New Horizons for Seniors Program.
